The American Dream

We're located in the northern central plains. North Dakota provides scenic vistas of never ending amber waves of grain that can only be found in the heartland of America. It's common to see bison grazing, large lakes with water extending to the horizon and empty highways with little to no vehicle traffic.

It's true when one tells you that the winters here come early, are harsh and non-forgiving. Snow drifts can quickly close that deserted highway that takes you to the grocery store forty minutes away.

We moved to North Dakota from northern Idaho. We sold our mobile (trailer) home, which sits on a rented lot and bought a home on land. After thirty plus years of marriage; we feel we've finally achieved the American Dream. Many of the folks who live out here are 'locals.' Their parents and grandparents lived either close by or in the same house. They went to the school (which is probably closed now)just down the road. Their teacher, who's retired now, still lives in town. Folks were quick to tell us just how hard the winters are, as if to ward us off. "Where you folks from? You know the winters are really bad here." We finaally started telling those who asked, "We moved down here from the Arctic Circle for the warmer weather."

Seriously, North Dakota is amazingly beautiful. We have little to no crime, little to no government. We have little to no taxes and a population of cows that exceeds the population of people. Our entire Sheriff's Department quit one day and we never missed them - nobody cared.

Our website is under development.

We know there's not alot to read here right now. We're working on creating a place for friends and family to exchange thoughts and experiences. We have a Facebook Group: "Feeding America's Squirrels Team." Please feel free to join and post pics of your squirrel friends. We'll likely provide F.A.S.T. with a home on our website.
